New York City...the Big Apple is such a big place to see. So much to do in so little time. In the 2+ years that I've lived here, my life has been so busy that I haven't even been a tourist yet. My family has visited and seen more than I have. If you're ever here and you're looking for a tour to go on, I would recommend checking out CitySights NY. They feature a bunch of double decker bus tours of the sights and scenes of the city (that's what locals call Manhattan) and more. A tour of one loop will cost you $44 for an adult and $34 for a child but if you purchase your tickets online first, you save $5.
These Hop on Hop off tours are a great way to see the city. They have a variety of routes for Manhattan, Brooklyn and more but let's talk about the downtown tour which covers three of the most visited sites in New York City: the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the site of the World Trade Center – “Ground Zero”. These tour buses are neat in that there are stops so that you can literally hop on and hop off at various attractions. Or, if you really don't like your tour guide, get off and get onto the next bus for a different experience. Departures for this particular tour run from 8AM to 6PM.
Licensed New York City tour guides will teach you about the neighborhoods, sites and attractions made famous in song, story, film and television. The tour lasts for 2.5 hours if you decide to stay on the bus the whole time. However, if you'd like to jump off at certain locations, feel free to do so because your ticket lasts for the full 24 hours. The downtown tour will take you to Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Macy's, Empire State Building, SoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, Site of the World Trade Center, Wall Street, Financial District, Battery Park South Street Seaport, Lower East Side, United Nations, Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Hall, Broadway Theatre District and more.
If you'd like a better deal of NYC, it only costs $10 more per person to upgrade to the All Around Town tour. This deal gives you 4 bus tours of New York City including Brooklyn, a 90 minute NY Waterway cruise and a museum. Overall, these tours are a great affordable way to check out some of NYC's famous tourist hot spots and it'll give you a way to rest your feet. Trust me, you can do a lot of walking around here.

I would love to visit NY city I have only gone once and that was to take in a broadway show.
That sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I've never been on a double decker bus before!
You're so lucky to live in New York! I've never been there, but when I do visit, I will definitely be visiting the Statue of Liberty! And Yankees stadium... :)
