Those Campbell's Skillet Sauces look delicious already, don't they? Oh trust me, they were. I could almost smell the flavors as I checked out each variety. Campbell’s Skillet Sauces are available in 6 different flavors: Creamy Chipotle with Roasted Corn & Black Beans, Marsala with Mushrooms & Garlic, Thai Green Curry with Lemongrass & Basil, Toasted Sesame with Garlic & Ginger, Fire Roasted Tomato with Red Bell Peppers & Chiles, and Scampi with White Wine & Garlic. I'm drooling just typing these names out. Don't you worry, I'm going to make you drool too with my own personally created flavorful Asian-inspired recipe.
These skillet sauces are easy to use and are typically ready in about 15 minutes. All it takes is a little oil heated up, brown your protein or vegetables, add in the sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover for 5 minutes or until your additions are cooked and tender. Now, are you ready for my Asian Enoki Delight?
Asian Enoki Delight (Prep Time: 10 minutes, Cook Time: 15 minutes, Serves 4)
Ingredients:
-Campbell's Toasted Sesame with Garlic and Ginger Skillet Sauce
-1 lb of sirlon strips cut into chunks (Take out for Vegetarian option)
-570g package of Sunrise Soft Tofu
-200g Enoki mushrooms
-1 small onion1) Cut sirloin strips into chunks, tofu into cubes, onion into halves and then slices.
2) Cut the roots off the Enoki mushrooms, wash and dab dry with paper towel.
3) On medium to high heat, brown the sirloin strips' chunks and onions.
4) Add the tofu, mushrooms, and Campbell's Toasted Seasame with Garlic and Ginger Skillet Sauce and heat to boil. Mix gently.
5) Reduce heat and cover for 5 minutes or until beef is cooked and mushrooms tender.
6) Serve over rice (2 cups of rice cooked separately should serve 4). Enjoy!
Tips: For a vegetarian option, just use the recipe without the sirloin strips.Mmm...it turned out great! It had that mild sweet tangy taste of sesame and ginger, and the ever appetizing smell and taste of garlic. It's not overpowering by any means. The sauce was able to permeate and add flavor to the tofu and enoki mushrooms and gave a little bit of flavor to the meat as well.
I loved how this particular skillet sauce was only 40 calories/serving and about 4 servings per package. The other sauces vary from 35-70 calories per serving. MRSP is $2.49 per 9-ounce pouch, which isn't that bad. I think I may be buying more of these in the future. They're a quick and easy dinner fix and I can't wait to try my other flavors!
Buy: Shop in grocery stores nationwide alongside boxed dinner kits, marinades, sauces, gravy or broth. Call Campbell’s Consumer Response Center at 855-374-6588 to find out the closest retail location near you.
