Oh, the fun with #Hasbro #games! #holidaygiftguide

Christmas Gift Ideas 2012Hasbro
Hasbro is one of my favorite toy brands and they have some pretty fun things that would top the wish list of kids of all ages, including those still young at heart! Here's a prelude to all the goodies they have out!

Ever since BlogHer this past summer when I played with a life-sized "Where's my Water" game, I realized how addicting it could be for adults and kids alike! Disney's Where's My Water app has come to life in this 3-dimensional game. Your mission in Where's My Water? ($19.99) is to help Swampy get "water" flowing back into his shower by sending marbles down the pipes, while avoiding obstacles! Play by yourself or against a friend by competing to get the most marbles down to the shower.
Where's My Water Game Review
Recommended for ages 5+, this game does require adult help for assembly with it's many small pieces. It features a colorful and fun display and a deck of possible game layouts in the form of cards. You "win" cards if you gain the most points during the game with the particular layout featured on the card. When a player wins 3 cards, they win.

We had a blast with this and needless to say, we're not 5 years old anymore. I can only imagine the fun my nephews will have with this. The only thing you need to watch out for is the small parts and balls in the set as there's definitely a choking hazard. It's easy to take apart but you will have to be careful assembling the backboard stand. The cardboard is thicker but still tore a bit as I was bending it to slide into the back of the game.
Then, there's this game everyone of all ages knows about. I played the app with my friends all the time! It gets serious, I tell ya! It's Words with Friends, a game similar to Scrabble. Hasbro and Zynga have converted it into a travel, compact version with WORDS WITH FRIENDS To Go ($14.99). There's even a cute and kind of geeky convenient travel case.

You can also use Word Check and Score Pad apps to make play easier. The access codes are included in the game but you have to have a mobile or online account to the game to use it.

Recommended for 13+ and for 2-4 players, I can definitely see this as a great family game this holiday season. I'm already thinking of bringing it with us on our trip to keep us busy during the long plane ride! Again, the tiles are quite small so you want to be careful if there's younger children around. Seriously, how cool is it that one of my favorite apps is available in real life!

Buy It: Shop online or in stores for Hasbro games.

How fun are those "real life" games?! My kids would love that version of Where's My Water. I'll have to look into it for them.
