No baking necessary! Making your #Dessert Masterpiece US/CAN 2/15 #CrazyCupid

I love my desserts and have always enjoyed baking, even though I may not have all the time in the world for it. I especially love how bakers create beautifully-made cakes and cupcakes. I wished I was talented enough to do that. I've seen some amazing creations from even some of my fellow blogger friends and thought, "Wow, I'm never going to be able to do something like that." That may just change with my newest book from Capstone Young Readers: Dessert Designer.

Dessert Designer ($12.95) by Dana Meachen Rau features 51 fun creations that's easy enough for kids. It's always funner when you do things together, right? And well, really, if it's easy enough for kids then a noobie like me should be able to handle it as well.

Using store-bought baked goods, simple ingredients and step-by-step instructions, the point is decorating the cake rather than cooking it. These designs are adorable and beautiful.

This book seriously looks so good, I wish I could eat the pictures. There's flowers, gift boxes, slides, roller coasters, popcorn (really, candy), baskets, and so much more! Here's a sample of the Fluffy Bunnies you could make. The creativeness is simply genius.
Fun dessert decorating tips, Dessert Designer
Recommended for kids ages 9-13 but I think it could apply to so many more people. Even if I don't do exactly what they say, there are so many possibilities and ideas that could branch out from these initial instructions. I can even see this being the source of some fun Valentine's Day creations!

Mouthwatering, right? Gosh, I only got to review the book and the spatula but for you, Capstone has created a wonderful giveaway set that includes the book, the spatula and a gorgeous set of 6 rainbow colored mixing bowls!! As usual, we appreciate Capstone for sending us a second copy of the book to donate to the Pediatrics Hematology and Oncology unit!
