I was sent the "My Very own Pirate Tale" gift set and placemat to review. Depending on the length of name, the book is approximately 30 pages long. This particular book portrays sea creatures having fun and bringing the letters one by one to spell the chosen name! So, it's not only a personalized book but also an educational tool to teach a child how to spell their own name. Once the full name is spelled out, the name is revealed to be the key to opening the treasure. He or she further becomes an honorary captain of their own ship! That in itself is cute enough, but with the gift set, a personalized bandanna also comes with it making it fun to play and read.I also enjoyed how the book provided a means to educate while having fun. At the end, there's an illustrated encyclopedia of 62 sea creatures with fun facts.
And if you haven't gotten enough of the pirates, you can also grab the same-themed placemat. The placemat is a thinner sheet that is easily to take care off. Soap and water will keep it nice and clean. Sea creatures hold letters of the alphabet.
I've given my nephew personalized books before and they love it because they open it and think, "It's my very own name. They wrote a book about me." It's such a precious gift and moment. I can't wait to give him this set and see the look on his face! It should be a fun combination along with Peter Pan.
