So, how do you stay healthy and beat the heat? Here's 5 simple and easy tips for staying healthy and beating the heat this summer.
1) A damp towel around the neck does wonders to cool one down.
2) Have healthy ice-cream pops. Watch for the lower calorie options that give you that satisfying cool taste but won't do damage to your waist. OR create your own fruit pops easily by blending some fruit with skim milk and pouring into popsicle molds. It's an easy, peasy, yummy but healthy way to get your fruit and calcium in!
3) Love the sun but love your sun protection too. A hat can do wonders for me...I tend to get headaches when I'm in the sun too long so a hat helps and the shade keeps me cool. Plus, I can hide my bad hair days and still look great. Don't forget the sunblock, it helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays and aging.
4) Wear light colored clothing. They reflect light so the result is that you end up cooler.
5) Drink lots of water. It's so important to stay hydrated for both you and your pets. I tend to keep some in the freezer and some in the fridge during the summer months so I can always grab one to go.
