What do you think of when we get into fall? I don't particularly enjoy the cooler temps but I've always enjoyed a nice warm drink, while being snuggled up to read a book. Ultimate Book of African Animals by Emmy Award-Winning Filmmakers Beverly and Dereck Joubert (ages 8-12, hardcover) -Animal lovers can not...can NOT...resist this book! This was the first one we grabbed out of the pile. This is such a neat book written by Dereck and Beverly who are eight-time Emmy award-winning filmmakers, National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence and wildlife conservationists who have been filming, researching and exploring Africa for over 35 years. There's so many different things to learn about elephants, cheetahs, lions, zebras and so much more. We loved learning about the different types of zebras and how to tell them apart. It was fun to read and learn about tapirs, especially since we recently saw one at the zoo!
Zeus the Mighty Series: The Trials of Hairy-Clees (ages 8-12, hardcover) -The next book in the Mount Olympus series involving our hamser Zeux, wise cat Athena and other rescued pets.
Little Kids First Big Book of Rocks, Minerals and Shells (ages 4-8, hardcover) - The newest addition to the series of Little Kids First Books series is another exciting addition. It takes the perhaps, sometimes conceived as boring aspects of everyday life and teaches kids how they're formed. It also dicusses how the different types of rocks and minerals and how they're used in art, architecture, science and more. We all know kids learn best with interactive learning so this book is absolutely in line with that.
National Geographic Kids Almanac 2022 (ages 8-12, paperback) - We love this almanac. The Nat Geo Almanacs are always so much fun. Packed with fun facts, activities and crafts, each year, National Geographic Kids Almanacs keeps kids updated with fresh new information.
NG Kids Why?: Over 1,111 Answers to Everything (ages 8-12, hardcover, 192 pgs) -I finally get why people say 3's are harder than 2's. That is a fact! 3-year-olds talk more and can ask a lot of quetions that starts with Why... There are may questions this mom can't answer. I can totally see my preschooler wanting to konw why your snot is yellow. This book has 1,111 of these wonderfully challenging questions rannging from silly to serious.
