Our newest find shows that there really is something new for Star Trek fans of all generations. So, it can get tiring to read age-appropriate books to a preschooler. Don't get me wrong, we love to read all sorts of books but sometimes it's nice to read a good chapter book too. So one of our favorite chapter books to read is the Explorer Academy series. We have read 5 in the series already and it's amazing how much my preschooler follows along. I cannot believe we are already at the end of the series, the final installment, the 7th book! It was actually quite funny because when I brought this up to my preschooler, he immmediately, like me...went, but we haven't read the 6th book yet! So, to my delight and from our friends at Nat Geo Kids, we are so happy to introduce one of our favorite series that is now on the heart-pounding finale!

When I think of the fall season, I'm a bit conflicted. I love the beauty of the colors, the gentle cooling of the temperatures. However, I also know that our harsh, cold Minnesota winters are coming and that just makes me feel bleh. Prestel book though, always make me feel better. Their fall collection which is intended for the younger reader, still interests me. I could totally sit with a cup of hot cocoa and thumb through the pages all day with my preschooler. Did you know being outdoors is therapeutic? It truly is! There have been studies put out that 20-30 minutes outdoors for up to 2 hours per week is the optimal time frame to decrease cortisol in our bodies, otherwise known as the stress hormone. So, being outdoors is great for stress and depression. That being said though, what kid doesn't love being outdoors? I know mine does!

Our family have always been animal lovers and as a child, I adored Clifford The Big Red Dog. In fact, I wanted one of my own. It wasn't until adulthood, when I finally adopted our first dog and well, my preschooler is just as in love with animals as I am. So funny enough, before we were going to review this movie, I was all excited about it. However, my husband had heard from some others that it was confusing. So then, I was torn. I thought, is there any way that could be true of any Marvel movie? I had to give it a fair chance, right? So read on because I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised!

We love the holiday season! There's so much warmth and cheer. There's something about settling in with the kids and watching a movie together. That's exactly what we did with Clifford The Big Red Dog! I actually loved Clifford and read the books as a kid and now it's something special to be able to share Clifford The Big Read Dog books with my preschooler. It's even more special to see Clifford show up on the big screens!
