Disney Pixar came out with Inside Out not so long ago and it introduced kids and adults everywhere to the complex world of feelings...completely exposed! There is such a wide range of feelings inside of each and everyone of us and learning to cope is not easy. Fast forward some years, and gosh, do those years seem to go by fast, and we are introduced to new feelings in a teenage Riley!
Check out the trailer:
The dreaded teenage years!!! OMG - I do not kid you when I say the fear is real. When I've got two super adorable children who are already sassing me at their young and tender ages, you gotta admit, as I mom, I fear what that will translate to in their teenage years. I suppose Riley's giving me a bit of a preview.
Synopsis:
Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen.
Bonus features:
- New Emotions – The process of creating Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy—from narrowing them down from a long list of possible emotions, to the design, animation, and voicing of these new, hilarious, and strangely recognizable characters.
- Unlocking the Vault
- Deleted Scenes
--Cold Open
--Broken Joy
--Pool Party
--Puberty Park
Inside Out 2 is such a fun family movie. It introduces the concept of emotions, new and sometimes, not so great feeling emotions and gives us the ability to discuss and perhaps, identify these emotions in ourselves and our kids. I love how it shows ours kids that these emotions exist and it's okay to have more than 1 emotion and to have anxiety and so forth. However, we can work together to find a balance. It is okay to talk about emotions.
In addition to being able to open up about emptions, Inside Out 2 itself is hilarious at times and the new characters are endearing. It is a fantastic sequel to Inside Out. We loved the movie as a family. Check it out with yours on Disney+ on Sep 25th!
